Annotation
The acclaimed Atlas of Clinical Hematology is an encyclopedic presentation of the morphology of every type of normal and abnormal blood cell. A working manual for hematologists as well as a comprehensive introduction for students, the book takes the reader from the examination of blood smears through effective clinical diagnosis. The completely revised and updated fourth edition retains the clarity and instructional quality of previous volumes. Nearly 240 magnificent full-color illustrations and numerous photomicrographs depict all the physiological and pathological conditions discussed. Concise legends provide further documentation of key illustrative material. Many illustrations have been replaced and many photomicrographs added. The text and terminology have been carefully reworked.
A detailed chapter on immunocytologic differentiation of normal cells in lymphatic tissue and malignantlymphomas has been added, including a technique which does not require the use of luminous paints, thus making it possible to evaluate the data with a normal light microscope. The Atlas of Clinical Hematology is an invaluable reference for clinicians and students in the fields of internal medicine, hematology, cytology, tropical diseases, and laboratory medicine.
